Managing Pensions

Capita approached us with the task of overhauling their existing "Atlas" app, which had been receiving bad usability reviews. Recognising the need for a more user-friendly interface, the goal was to streamline the app's functionality and enhance its overall user experience.
Sign-Up Process Optimisation
One of the initial challenges was the scattered sign-up process across multiple screens. To address this, I reimagined the sign-up flow by condensing information, eliminating redundant information, and ensuring a more seamless and straightforward user registration process. This optimisation aimed to reduce friction and improve the onboarding experience.

Enhanced Onboarding Journey
I realised there was a lack of introduction to what the app was, what it could do and what it could offer, this made the product confusing to its users.
I introduced a concise onboarding journey. This addition served to build users knowledge with the app's capabilities and features, enhancing their understanding and overall engagement from the outset.

Revamped HomePage
The original Atlas screen, depicted on the left, posed navigation challenges.
I reorganised information strategically, facilitating a more intuitive and user-friendly layout.
The introduction of a bottom navigation bar replaced the conventional burger menu, offering swift access to key features. The revamped homepage exposes functionalities that were previously tucked away, ensuring a more accessible and efficient user experience.

White label Design Implementation
Understanding the diverse branding needs of Capita's clients, the redesigned app incorporates whitelabel capabilities. This allows clients to personalise the app with their unique branding, ensuring a tailored and cohesive representation aligned with their business identity.

Results and Future Outlook
The project resulted in a significant enhancement of the Atlas app's usability, garnering positive feedback from both internal testing and potential end-users. Following the redesign, Capita got the approval to proceed with implementation, aligning the app with contemporary design principles and meeting the evolving needs of users.
